About

OneHundredFish is a personal fishing project and journal built around a simple idea:
to catch (and mostly release) 100 unique fish species over the course of a lifetime, and to enjoy everything that comes with the pursuit.

For me, fishing has always been about more than just the fish. It’s about being on rivers, lakes, and coastlines; learning new water; paying attention to seasons and weather; and occasionally figuring things out the hard way. Some days are memorable for the fish, others for the places or the people, and many for the quiet moments in between.

This site is where I keep track of those experiences. You’ll find stories from individual outings, notes on species and locations, photos, and the occasional reflection on what works, what doesn’t, and what keeps me coming back out.

I’m not chasing records or trophies, and I’m not trying to be an expert guide. I’m just documenting a long‑term goal that gives structure to something I already love doing. Some species come easily; others might take years. That’s part of the fun.

Most of the fishing here is catch‑and‑release, with an emphasis on respecting the fish and the places they live. I care a lot about leaving water better than I found it and about fishing in a way that feels sustainable and responsible.

If you enjoy fishing, travel, learning about new species, or just reading about time spent outdoors, I hope you find something here that resonates. And if you’re working on a long‑term goal of your own, I hope this site is a reminder that progress doesn’t have to be fast to be meaningful.

Thanks for stopping by.
